The Planning Skills Delivery Fund refers to the £24 million of government funding available to local authorities over two years to help with the implementation of the proposed reforms in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill.
This fund has been allocated in recognition of the fact that support is needed to help planning services deal with a variety of issues currently facing the planning system.
Local Authorities in England can apply for funding of up to £100,000 to help support the processing of planning applications.
The funding has been allocated to assist with two key areas:
• Clearing planning application backlogs
• Addressing planning skills gaps
The application deadline for this funding is 11 September 2023.
